Mr. Peter Huisman, CEO
Peter has been the CEO of L&C since April 2005. Prior to his appointment Peter was a board member and an
executive of numerous high-tech and software companies. He was the founder and Managing Partner of p3 Technology Partners,
a venture capital firm out of the Netherlands from 1998-2003. Before p3 he was a software entrepreneur and
a.o. founder and president of SQL Systems, a world-wide market leader in the area of asset management systems from
1985 until its sale in 1997. Before that he had 10 years experience in several management roles within Exxon, the
multi-national petrochemical company and worked several years in research. Peter has a PhD in Mathematics and Science
and a Master in Applied Physics

Mr. David Byrd, Sr. Vice President Sales and Marketing
David joined L&C in the fall of 2007. With more than 15
years of experience in healthcare technology sales and marketing, David has a proven track record in developing and leading
high performing sales and marketing organizations. Prior to joining Language and Computing, David was the Vice President of
Sales and Marketing for A-Life Medical, a coding NLP technology company, where he built the company’s sales, marketing,
strategic partners, product management and sales support infrastructures and processes. Prior to A-Life David served
in various management positions for Computer Science Corporation and Reynolds and Reynolds. David holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Management from Rocky Mountain College.

Mr. Robert Hostetler, CFO/COO
Mr. Hostetler possesses over thirty years of broad business and financial management experience with special competence in
entrepreneurial, start-up, rapid growth and turnarounds of commercial software and professional service organizations.
Mr. Hostetler also has extensive competence in governmental entities and technology implementations. Prior to joining
Language and Computing Mr. Hostetler was MidAtlantic Managing Partner for Tatum LLC. Mr. Hostetler previously served
as President and CFO of YellowBrick Solutions, Sr. VP Software Systems at Election Systems and Software and
CFO/COO of Buildsoft. Mr. Hostetler’s early career included 19 years public accounting. Mr. Hostetler holds a B.S.
in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He is a licensed CPA and a member of the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Dave Hellman, Sr. Vice President, Professional Services, Product, and Content Management
Dave has been responsible for Customer Operations at L&C since 2003. Prior to that he enjoyed a 20 year career at Xerox Corporation where he designed, developed, and implemented complex and
innovative solutions in support of the entire document lifecycle. Dave was instrumental in assisting Xerox'
famed Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) transition their inventions from research to practicality. He received
his degree from Duke University where he majored in Computer Science and Psychology and is proud to be working
in a field where he gets to apply both.

Dr. James Flanagan, Chief Medical Officer
James R. Flanagan, MD, PhD, FACP has been Chief Medical Officer for Language and Computing since 2002 as well
as practicing part-time as an Internal Medicine hospitalist. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians
and a member of the American Medical Informatics Association. During his tenure with the University of Iowa he
was Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Medical Director for Information Systems at the University of
Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He has a PhD in Genetics from the Department of Genetics at the University of
Washington where he also received his Medical Degree, followed by training in Internal Medicine at the
University of Minnesota and subsequent positions as Medical Staff Fellow and then Senior Staff Fellow at the
National Institutes of Health. Using his expertise in Natural Language Understanding technologies, experience
with health care processes, and his clinical skills, Dr. Flanagan provides consultation to customers and
potential customers, and guidance to L&C engineers for solving specific clinical problems and for evaluating
the impact of the solutions.

Dr. Davide Zaccagnini MD, MS, Product Manager/Medical Informaticist
Davide Zaccagnini, MD, MS has been a Medical Informatician for Language and Computing since 2005. He is a
specialist in vascular surgery and earned a Masters in biomedical informatics from Harvard-MIT where he
spent 3 years researching medical ontologies and other semantic technologies. His research has been
published in various international medical informatics journals. He joined Language and Computing from
Eclipsys, bringing his clinical skills, scientific background and understating of clinical information
systems to lead product development and strategy in the health care and life sciences sectors.
