In a first investment round in 2000, Belgacom Multimedia Ventures,
GIMV and Ibervest
invested 6 million Euros in Language and Computing. This is being used to reinforce
L&C's technology advantage in the field of natural language processing by accelerating
product development, and to extend the company focus to international markets.
L&C's choice of GIMV and Belgacom Multimedia Ventures as investment partners was
purposeful. GIMV, a Flanders-based investment company, offers extensive management
experience and a sizable international network. Belgacom Multimedia Ventures has a
deep knowledge of the e-health domain and can likewise help drive business development
into new geographic markets.
