Mr. Gerard Van Acker
Chairman of the Board
Gerard Van Acker (1943) became President-CEO of GIMV in 1980. Until January 2001, he was
also chairman of the executive committee of GIMV and served as director of several companies
and institutions. Between 1978 and 1980, Mr. Van Acker was Chief of Staff of the Vice Prime
Minister and the Minister for Economic Affairs of Belgium and, between 1972 and 1978; he was
Chief of Staff of the chairman of the National Council for Economic Affaires. Mr. Van Acker
also served as first deputy to the Bureau of Planning of Belgium for 6 years. On
January 12, 2001, Mr. Gerard Van Acker tendered his resignation to the Board, following
his departure from the GIMV. Now he is acting as a member of the Board of several listed
and non-listed companies.

Mr. Alex Brabers
Director of Information and Communication Technology, GIMV
Alex Brabers (1965) joined GIMV as Investment Manager in 1990. Alex started his career
in 1987 in the banking industry, first as trader in international money market instruments,
later in the strategic planning department. He holds an Economics degree from the University
of Louvain. While with GIMV, Alex was responsible for successful international venture
capital investments in the field of ICT and Telecom. He supported these investments
actively, several of which were exited through either trade sales or IPO’s. He is
currently a board member of, among others, Telenet, Mobistar, Option International,
Barconet and Telos.

Mr. Steven Coppens
Senior Investment Manager for GIMV
Steven Coppens serves as Senior Investment Manager for GIMV, where he is
focusing on software companies and more specific in the Financial Services
vertical. He holds a Master Degree from the University of Louvain in
Applied Economics and a master from ESC Montpellier (France). Currently, he
holds several board or observer positions amongst other in Language and
Computing, Maximiles, TinubuSquare and Proficient.

Mr. Maarten Laga
Founder and Former CEO of Language and Computing
Maarten Laga is a cofounder of Language and Computing. Under his leadership,
Language and Computing grew from an idea based on academic research to a commercial
entity that addresses mission critical needs for major organizations in the private
and public sector. He holds Masters Degrees in Informatics and Healthcare Policy and
Management from the University of Louvain. Prior to joining L&C he cofounded Quadrat
Medical Software, a supplier of Radiology Information Systems, where under his stewardship
it quickly became profitable and was succesfully integrated with the Agfa-Gevaert group.
Mr. Laga is currently CEO of Memobead Technologies, a specialty device manufacturer in the
fields of Diagnostics, Drug Discovery, and Forensics.

Mr. Bart Van Hooland
Managing Director Pont NV
Bart Van Hooland (1964), a former Consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, joined
Pont NV in 1998. He started his career in 1987 at the Belgian Cabinet of the State
Secretary for Public Health. Mr. Van Hooland holds the degree of Civil Engineer in
Electronics from the Ghent University and an MBA from INSEAD Fontainebleau, France.
He is currently a board member of Language and Computing and acting General Manager
of Sage Engineering.

Mrs. Pascale Carron
Investment Manager , Ibervest
Pascale Carron started her carreer in 1989 in the mergers and acquisition department
of BBL (now ING) where she was responsible for the successful completion of several
mandates. Subsequently she worked as an HRM consultant at Mercuri Urval. By becoming
part of Ibervest she decided to refocus on corporate finance and investment activities.
Pascale holds an Economics degree from the University of Ghent and a special degree in
Financial Sciences from the Vlerick Management School.
